There was a very good turnout of more than 40 existing members, new members and guests. Mark Lindley of Logiplex gave an excellent presentation on the new data protection GDPR regulations, which come in during May 2018 and the importance of acting now to make sure your business is not fined 4% of turnover for non- compliance. David Evans of Platform One stressed the importance of branding to all businesses. Those attending were encouraged to make suggestions on what the Chamber’s objectives should be in 2018 and beyond, with particular emphasis on input from those in the service sector. A detailed business round was given on the Chamber’s empty shop programme, business rates, A boards, Dixton roundabout retail development, Active Travel and the Wyebridge Street car park. The meeting was followed by a networking session with delicious Indian food kindly supplied by the Indian Summer takeaway."
