PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE CHANGES TO THE CAR PARKING REGIME PROPOSED BY MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (MCC)
1ST FEBRUARY AT 6PM IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM AT MONMOUTH'S SHIRE HALL
Officers of the County Council will be there to answer your questions.
This meeting is of interest to the following groups:
Residents using on street and off street parking
Monmouth businesses
Visitors and shoppers using the town
Those who are deterred from shopping in Monomuth due to a lack of parking spaces.
MCC propose the following major changes to the parking regime as follows:
Increased rate in short term car parks for one and two hours
A twenty four hour rate in short term car parks.
Increase in the charging period to 6pm from 5pm daily.
Abolition of free parking on Sundays
Abolition of free car parks.
Bicycle stand parking to be installed in all public car parks rather than close to shops.

The Chamber believes these are major changes that will affect not only the sustainability of businesses in the town, but also the general public's day to day enjoyment of the town and its facilities.
